The container chassis carries shipping containers by road, between port or terminal and the customer. There are chassis for different container lengths; high cube containers travel on lowered chassis so the overall height stays within legal limits.

How it is loaded
- the container is placed by crane / reach stacker; the cargo is loaded into the container
- The container locks onto the chassis at its corner castings, without handling the goods.
- A heavy container must be centred on the chassis for correct axle load distribution.
- The weight allowed on the road can be lower than the container’s maximum mass; we check in advance.
- Unloading happens at your site, straight from the container, or the container is dropped for later unloading.

- Full import containers, from port to customer
- Empty containers brought for export loading
- Containers between a rail terminal and the customer
- FCL pre- and on-carriage from ports (Constanța, Koper, Hamburg etc.)

Exceptions and limitations
- 44 t only in intermodal transport and, in Romania, only on category R roads; it needs a 3-axle tractor unit (higher tare, UNVERIFIED) → real gain ~+2.5–3 t (INFERENCE).
- A 40' HC on a chassis without a tunnel / gooseneck can exceed 4.00 m (2.896 m container + ~1.1 m fifth wheel) (INFERENCE).
- A heavy 20' must be centred; on the Krone multi chassis: max 25 t gross mass of the centred container.
- Krone prohibits full tank containers on these chassis.
