The mega trailer has the same length as a standard curtainsider but a greater internal height, achieved with a lowered deck and small wheels. The gain is in volume, not weight: it is the right choice for bulky, light goods such as automotive boxes or packaging.

Exceptions and limitations
- It needs a low-deck tractor unit (fifth wheel ~0.95 m, 19.5" wheels): without it, 3 m of internal height does not fit under 4.00 m.
- Schmitz gives “up to 3,200 mm” only depending on the fifth wheel and the legal framework; more than 3.0 m is not promised.
- Some loading docks do not match the lowered floor (INFERENCE).
- “Jumbo” is ambiguous in Romanian usage (mega or 7.7 + 7.7 road train): the explorer uses “mega”.
