The reefer semi-trailer has insulated walls and a unit that keeps goods within the required temperature range, from frozen to chilled and, on many models, above a minimum threshold in winter. The unit maintains temperature; it does not cool goods loaded warm.

Exceptions and limitations
- Multi-temp (2–3 compartments) reduces the usable volume and the pallets (UNVERIFIED).
- Double deck: 66 EUR pallets only for light, non-stackable cargo [S-KRONE-COOL-DS].
- Pharma (GDP) needs dedicated equipment and processes: it is confirmed at quotation.
- The external width of 2.60 m is allowed only for conditioned bodies.
