The flatbed is an open semi-trailer with no walls or roof, loaded from the top or the side. It is used for steel, profiles, building materials and small machinery loaded by crane. Goods must withstand the weather or be covered.
Practical reference values. We confirm the exact dimensions in the quote. Honexpres organises transport with this vehicle, on request.
How the pallets fit
Indicative Honexpres drawing generated from the reference dimensions. Not a manufacturer drawing.
How it is loaded
- top (crane)
- side (forklift)
- rear
- Top loading by crane or side loading by forklift.
- The maximum cargo height without a permit depends on the deck height; the sheet shows the legal limits.
- Beyond the width, height or length limits, the transport becomes oversized and needs permits.
- Secured with straps or chains according to the lashing plan.
Suitable for
- Steel profiles, pipes and sheets
- Building materials
- Small machinery loaded by crane
- Steel structures within legal dimensions
- steel, sections, pipes
- building materials
- small machines loaded by crane
Not suitable for
- weather-sensitive cargo
- cargo > ~2.7 m high (→ semi low-loader)

Requires legal validation
- Maximum combination mass: Maximum mass: 40 t (combination with 5–6 axles)
- Intermodal transport: 44 t only in intermodal transport (3-axle tractor unit + semi-trailer with 2–3 axles, container up to 45'); in Romania only on category R roads
- Maximum length: Maximum length: 16.50 m (articulated vehicle)
- Maximum width: Maximum width: 2.55 m (2.60 m for conditioned bodies)
- Maximum height: Maximum height: 4.00 m
09 §1.1 (Directive 96/53/EC, Annex I) · 09 §1.4 (OG 43/1997, Annex 2)
Exceptions and limitations
- The maximum cargo height without a permit = 4.00 m − the deck height (indicative; without suspension compression).
- Above 2.55 m in width, 4.00 m in total height or 16.50 m in length → oversized transport with a special transport permit (AST).
- The Faymonville CargoMAX is not a general flatbed (ballast trailer) → it is not used as a reference.

What if my goods are too tall for a flatbed?
A lower deck is used, for example the semi low-loader, or an oversized transport is organised.
Services using this type
